(PERSON)IFICATION is a series of portraits exploring the concept of instinctively - possibly subconsciously - associating particular inanimate objects to specific people. I was heavily inspired by the portrait Here, This is Stieglitz by Francis Picabia - in which Picabia portrays his American Photographer friend Stieglitz as a broken camera. I wanted to indulge in the concept of finding intimate relationships and associations through mundane, inanimate objects, and so I created digitally painted portraits of my loved ones with objects that remind me of them, and vise-versa.
